22 June 2012 - 23 June 2012
Are you passionate about local plants and wildlife? Do you understand the importance of biodiversity? Then we need your help!
Join us in our ‘BioBlitz’ as we attempt to find as many native species as possible in just 24 hours from 12 noon on Friday 22nd June to 12 noon on Saturday 23rd June. This large scale event will engage you with biodiversity, allowing you to get directly involved in surveying and monitoring wildlife and plants.
Friday 22nd June
7.00 – 10.00 pm (approx.)
Over 12’s can visit Paignton Zoo after hours and take part in a series of exciting activities with some of the Zoo’s experts.
Before it gets dark you can take part in the pond dip in our Clennon Valley nature trail to see what creatures might be lurking under the water. Dusk is the perfect time to try and spot bats at the lakeside and go moth hunting, and when night falls you will experience a badger watch in our specially built hide with one of the keepers.
Also enjoy a well deserved hot drink and snack in the Education Centre to discuss what species you’ve found with our knowledgeable Zoo staff.
