Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust

Library

LibraryThe library comprises Herbert Whitley’s private collection which includes publicity and press cuttings dating from 1908. Subsequent purchases and donations mean that the WWCT library now consists of over 6,000 books including some old and unusual volumes.  The library specialises in biological and botanical subjects including animal behaviour, conservation, ecology, and habitat management.

The library also holds studbooks, copies of dissertations, current journals and has a wealth of information relating to the WWCT and Paignton Zoo. The library is used by zoo staff, students from Bridgwater College and Plymouth and Exeter Universities and it is also available to Annual Members.

The library is managed by the Trust Secretary and volunteers. The Trust tries to keep the library as up-to-date and comprehensive as possible so donations of relevant materials are always welcome.
